On Sunday, March 22, 2020, Rev. Todd Salzwedel was announced as the Senior Minister of First United Methodist Church, Lubbock. Todd and his family have been in Lubbock since July 1st of 2020.
Todd is married to Alice, and they have two children, Braeden and Paege. Todd is originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, though he has lived most of his life in New Mexico, West Texas, and Southern Oklahoma. Todd graduated from the University of New Mexico with a degree in Economics and Philosophy before attending Southern Methodist University where he received both his Master of Divinity and Doctorate of Ministry degrees. Todd currently serves on the delegation to General and Jurisdictional Conferences (the legislative body for the United Methodist Church worldwide) and serves on a variety of other boards locally and abroad. Like many clergy couples, Todd and Alice began their ministry together in youth ministry before serving churches in Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Texas during their almost 25 years of ministry together.
Outside of working in his mission field, Todd enjoys hunting and attending sporting events. Frequent trips to the Holy Land leading hundreds of pilgrims over the years has become a passion and love. Todd always has another trip planned on the horizon!
The Salzwedel family enjoys spending time with friends and family, getting involved with the community, traveling, and cheering for the Green Bay Packers!
