Adult Sunday School Classes

Ambassadors - Room 205,  Ages 50 & Older — Est. 2010

A welcoming group of couples and singles that find spiritual growth through study, discussion and relationship. This class is self-taught and rotates teachers and studies both Scriptural passages and books. The class holds occasional socials or dinners and often goes to lunch after worship.


CORNERSTONE - ROOM 23, AGES 50 AND UP

Adult class ranging in age from about 55 to 80. Couples and singles are welcome. The class picks its own diverse topics including the Bible, Scripture interpretation,, social issues, world religions and personal growth. The class encourages lively discussion and differences of opinions. There is a monthly dinner out and several socials during the years.


Crosstrainers - Room 3 — Est. 2015

Young couples’ class formed for those young couples looking for a place to connect with other couples and young parents that have a desire to grow together as we seek to live out Biblical values. 


FELLOWSHIP BIBLE CLASS - ROOM 24, ALL AGES — EST. 1977

Fellowship Bible Class is based on Bible Study. The class is open to singles and couples of all ages and is taught by John Dudley. The class chooses studies that are based on sections of the Bible that members are interested in studying and which last over a 2-3 month period.


GENERATIONS - CHURCH PARLOR, ALL AGES — EST. 1997

As its name would suggest, the Generations Class is cross-generational. The class includes both couples and singles and is taught by a group of class members who rotate the teaching responsibilities each week. Focus is on bible study, as well as books authored by some of today’s leading Christian writers, including Adam Hamilton and Mark Batterson. The class is also heavily involved in outreach activities, including the Bayless Elementary projects and Lubbock State Supported Living Center. The class also enjoys regular social activities.


HI ROBINSON - ROOM 15,  AGES 60 AND UP — EST. 1954

Begun in 1954 by Dr. and Mrs. H.I. Robinson as a young couples’ class, it has evolved through the years. Members now have grown children and many grandchildren. An active class of couples and singles is taught by a rotation of teachers using the Adult Bible Study Series and special topics. Socials throughout the year are well attended. All age groups are welcome.


HOMEBUILDERS - ROOM 7,  AGES 60-70 — EST. 1947

Guests and permanent teachers lead the Adult Bible Series and other topics of choice in this class of adults with grown children. The class has a couple of socials annually.


LEAP OF FAITH - ROOM 107 CLC, AGES 30 AND UP — EST. 2009

A couples’ class with young children devoted to the study of scripture and strengthening the relationship with God, spouse, family and friends. This class seeks to live out their faith in all avenues of life. Regular social activities with and without children promote and strengthen relationships.


MCMILLAN - ROOM 10, AGES 55 AND UP — EST. 1958

The class curriculum emphasizes faith in daily living. Lessons of Bible study, book reviews and current issues are taught by a rotation of teachers. This is a class of discussion and interaction. Social activities provide an atmosphere for the development of friendships and support.


PACESETTERS - ROOM 19, AGES 50 AND UP — EST. 1982

The Pacesetters Class was formed in 1982, consists of couples and singles over the age of 50. Many members have adult children as well as grandchildren. The class is taught by rotating teachers on a monthly basis. Class study centers on applying faith and Christian principles in daily life. Quarterly socials foster close friendships within the class.


PATHFINDERS - ROOM 18, AGES 50 AND UP

Membership consists of couples and singles, many have adult children. A variety of teachers lead the class in study and discussion of biblical principles. Regular fellowship opportunities include social events such as quarterly Sunday brunches and an annual Christmas party.


SEEKERS OF GRACE - ROOM 210, AGES 25-45 — EST 2000

Seekers of Grace (SOG) is comprised of young married couples in their 20s and 30s most with young children. The class was established in February of 2000. Topics of study range from relationships to various Christian-based book studies, with emphasis on small group discussion and class input. They enjoy various social gatherings including a family picnic, dinner at Cagle’s Steakhouse, potluck suppers and a Christmas party as well as girls/guys nights out. SOG members are encouraged to actively participate in a wide range of missions projects. SOG welcome any couple interested in developing and applying faith and Christian principles in daily life, and is led by a rotation of teachers. Monthly socials, with or without children, foster close friendships in this class.


THROUGH THE BIBLE - ROOM 207, AGES 25-60 — EST. 2009

Through the Bible seeks to develop an intimate knowledge of the Bible and its relevance to daily life. The class is diverse with both singles and couples and seeks to support and encourage its members as we grow together.


TWO OR MORE - ROOM 206 — Est. 2015 

Two or More caters to people who are unable to attend on a consistent weekly basis. Bible studies are obtained from the internet so that members can watch on their own time if they are unable to attend in person. This online study enables our members to watch the current video lesson from their home computer, mobile device or tablet. Online lessons last about 20 minutes with time left for discussion. Starting with only eight members, the class now has over 20 with at least a dozen in attendance each week. 


Words of Faith - Room 106 CLC — Est. 2023

Words of Faith s is a mixed age class. A few married couples but also singles.
